Masterson’s Pub , situated in the center of Moonee Ponds , markets itself as a trendy “hipster” hangout , but my latest trip at this establishment quickly devolved into an unforgettable, terrible experience. While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I experienced behind its walls was appalling and beyond comprehension .
The Condition of the Premises : Squalid and Disregarded
From the moment I walked in , it was clear that upkeep was not a priority at Masterson’s . The floors were sticky , and a overpowering stench of old alcohol and uncleaned toilets suffused the entire bar . Smelling a mixture of human waste, a rotting odor and illness . The serving zone , which should be the primary feature of any pub, was overflowing with soiled cups and litter that looked like it had accumulated over weeks. The lavatory was in even a truly awful state— backed up, with a shattered handle and tiles smeared in what I can only assume was fecal matter .

For a business that serves drinks , these issues are absolutely intolerable and raise serious concerns about the integrity of their offerings.
